There are currently about 450 roadmobiles in UK, attracting many tourists and motorhome owners to UK motorhome friendly campsites.
Recently MOT launched a campaign to get Britons to discover the joys of cycling, camping and motorhome hire.
The company is asking people to share their views on what is important to them in a motorhome holiday.

Why is driving a motorhome so different to driving a car?
Driving a car is very different to driving a motorhome. When you drive a car, your whole focus is on getting from A to B. With a motorhome, you have your cake and eat it too, but without all of the distractions.
Why is driving a motorhome so cheap?
In the UK motorhome hire is relatively inexpensive, once costs for vehicle hire and tax is taken into account.
Most UK campsites and motorhome parks are under construction, so during these building costs are minimal.
In essence, driving a motorhome is similar to moving to a piece of garden furniture that you have never seen before; it is only when you get out into the open that you are able to appreciate how different it is.
Which is the best suited to the UK?
As a general rule, the most suitable motorhome for UK driving is likely to be either a diesel or gas-operated motorhome. Both of these engines are highly fuel-efficient, produces small amounts of pollution and take little time toenger up.

If you own or rent a motorhome other considerations need to be taken into account. Will the size of the caravan moderate the driving experience?
Small Circular Domes are best suited for situations where space is a luxury. Lightweight and easily stored the small circle tents eat up little room and tend to be very stable.
Aggressive summers overhangs can be extremely uncomfortable and cumbersome to tackle.
Summer driving is a lot easier on the younger models of motorhomes, which have moderate levels of space and Fiat 500s. Comfortably spacious and comfortable though the smaller size of the touring caravan exacts a significant cost.
Roof box manufacturers generally treat the cabin area of the motorhome as though it is the living room of the vehicle and so this is where most of the furniture and linens are stored.
Earing children in the back will prove to be a major frustration most especially on the longer routes where the floor plan tends to be blocked by unwanted step mum!
Front seats often have to be removed to accommodate older children having a bunk in the front and a regular position in the rear.
Kids love to pretend they are camping and getting involved with things nature. Warranty? Family camping? going to the beach? Having a cell phone? Having everything you think you are going to need for a week ahead of you really not feeling prepared for that walk into the unknown.
Carry spare batteries in order to operate equipment such as the fridge, while eight fifteen foot crayfish make for a good fishing snack.
When parking up camping grounds keep an ear out for parks that may have accepted a black tiegrounds. These grounds are usually just an arrangement for meeting between two adjoining sites without actually tying two lots together.
Most sites now offer the option to upgrade to a chalet or villa that is actually situated on the grounds of a park. Resort rents a unit on a weekly basis and may offer such services as a children’s playground.
