Inca trail is one of the most visited trails in South America. Because of its growing popularity, it was getting overcrowded. Peruvian government has introduced a new rule to protect the trail from over use. New rules restrict the number of trekkers on the trail. From 2005 all the new rules came into effect. Since then to get a space in Inca trail is getting more and more difficult. Now a day you have to reserve a place three months in advance if you are planning to visit during high season.
New Rule for Inca trail
Peruvian government has introduced the new rule in 2002 (Resolution N° 02- 2003-UGM-CD). But government started using the rule without referring it to strict date. There were some problems with this because Rule N° 02- 2003-UGM-CD excluded certain places such as parts of Salkantay, Mara, Kibber, etc. because they have been modified by others to fit their specifications. But since no problem is solved by removing some of the restrictions, it seems even worse time now.
Booking early
Since nobody can predict the upcoming holidays, everybody is reserving their berth weeks before. People, who can not predict the coming holidays are reserving their berth weeks before. Booking early is a must if you want to secure a spot in Inca trail. People do not get relaxed easily and early booking in such event will definitely give you a reason for celebration.
Now a days almost all the trekking in Peru is guided, which makes sure that it is done with spears, sticks and ropes. But not in Inca trail. People carry their own trekking devices and gears. The most important ones are leather belts and waterproof boots. Laced with strong steel buckles, these items can endure all conditions in the trekking. But of course, with such system it is useless to carry lot of things. Especially the tough environment in the trail makes sure that things must be light enough to be carried.
So a trekking package provides a wide choice of trekking gears and capabilities. Not only is it able to bring soft ware and typical trekking devices, but it can also bring heavy weights of food and supplies. The heavy trekking equipment is able to bear the weight of food and the surrounding places. This way you can trek smoothly without worrying your heavy items.
