Family camping has been popular for years and continues to be today. The family time needed to plan such activities as camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, etc. are all valuable times that only children can really provide. With the wide variety of different sizes and styles of family camping tents available today, choices are becoming more diverse than ever.

It is now possible to find family camping tents that are as small as the size of a youngster’s backpack. Furthermore, they can be much closer to the camping location than those large, multi-room tents requiring many adults. Dome tents are now a popular option not only for families but also for backpackers and hikers. Although they are lightweight, they are sturdy and durable enough to withstand the elements.

Tent styles such as canvas tents, tepees, and screen tents are still widely used by many outdoor enthusiasts today. Even though climate control systems have become very realistic and convenient for many outdoor enthusiasts, exotic containers are still used for safekeeping of food. Coolers and miniature grills are still considered to be essential for cooking outdoor meals. Even when picnicking is done, the fresh foods can be kept cool so that the Tofino keeps cool as well.

A day spent at the Tofino State Park is a day well spent by anyone who loves the outdoors. Brides-to-be love the breathtaking sunsets, the water, and the lush vegetation that grace the landscape. While the park is set up specifically for the public, hikers and campers are given utmost privacy and are able to enjoy a secluded setting. Camping in Northwest Territory state park will create memories that will last a lifetime. Not only does it serve up a rejuvenating atmosphere, it provides a safe haven from the weather men who hurl storms and ruin weddings each winter. Resorts like The Tofino State Park provide a great option for fiancé and grooms-to-be who want to plan a day on their own.

The park also offers some guided tours that go along with some of the in-depth tours available. Self-guided tours are ideal for families with younger children because they are not as heavy-handed as those offered by travel agencies. Young children can also participate in our Blast ability program, where two guides at a time blast you with a variety of fun activities, guides who wear very distinctiveuri heads, and water stations sprinkle the park with waves!

The park also offers some unique programs for families in need of more exciting things to do. The technology that is being developed to pilot these new experiences is nothing short of amazing. In addition to the regular programs, The Tofino Playground, The Create and Imagine programs use technology to engage and excite children in learning new, life-long skills. Also, there is a special needs program for children that participate in our deaf service programs.

The society’s educational initiatives aimed at children and young adults include: Making Children’s Discovery Day, an annual event focused on young leaders; Making Pre-Kinder, a summer camp for kids ages 5-11; and a year-round environmental leadership program for organizations like the World Wildlife Fund and The Wildlife Conservation Society.

The Make It Happen! campaign, led by Johnson and former President Bill Clinton, has helped raise awareness and funds for a number of environmental initiatives including the Africa climate change initiative and planting carbon sinks in parks like the one in Tofino, British Columbia.

With today’s technology savvy society, there are a number of environmental initiatives such as Make It Happen! that are directly geared also to helping individuals and organizations rediscover the wonder of nature and the importance of its ecosystem. In many cases, these efforts target communities through educational programs and community participation.

The campaign is designed specifically to increase environmental awareness and to develop the next generation of “Thinkers, Thinkers, Thinkers” and to train the public in climate action and leadership. Think! is the new green.

But we are all individuals and we are all social beings.
